The Reverse Offer: A Smart Strategy to Sell Your Listing

When a home sits on the market longer than expected, it’s time to get creative. One of my favorite real estate strategies for sellers is the reverse offer and it can make all the difference.

I’m Jennie Wolek with The Wolek Group at Keller Williams Realty in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and I’ve used this simple, proactive approach to help many of my sellers spark new interest and get their homes sold faster.

 

What Is a Reverse Offer?

Instead of waiting for a buyer to make an offer, the seller makes one to the buyer. It’s especially effective when a potential buyer has toured the home, shown interest, but hasn’t taken that next step.

A reverse offer can:
✅ Grab a hesitant buyer’s attention
✅ Open up a productive pricing conversation
✅ Show your seller that you’re proactive, strategic, and results-driven

Even if the offer doesn’t immediately lead to a contract, it often creates valuable feedback or sparks a price adjustment that moves the property closer to sold.

The reverse offer strategy gets everyone talking. It shifts the mindset from waiting and hoping to taking action and creating momentum and that’s exactly what helps homes sell in a slower market.
