LinkedIn Secrets for Real Estate Agents with Beth Granger

agent success secrets Oct 07, 2026

Welcome back to another episode of Agent Success Secrets! I am Jennie Wolek with The Wolek Group, and today we are diving into a platform that many real estate agents completely overlook: LinkedIn.

I am thrilled to introduce my friend and LinkedIn expert, Beth Granger. Beth is a speaker, trainer, and consultant who helps individuals and organizations use LinkedIn as a powerful networking tool. If you are tired of spammy messages and want to know how to actually build relationships on this platform, you need to read Beth's top strategies!

The "House" Strategy for LinkedIn Success

If you treat LinkedIn exactly like you treat Instagram or Facebook, you will struggle. Beth recommends visualizing your LinkedIn strategy like building a house:

  • The Foundation (Your Profile): Your personal profile is your networking face to the world. If your foundation isn't set, your networking won't hold up. Make sure you have a professional background graphic, up-to-date contact information, and a completed "Featured" section (which acts like pinned posts and is highly visible on mobile!).
  • The First Floor (Engagement): This is where you connect and have conversations. Commenting on other people's posts is like joining a networking conversation that is already in progress.
  • The Top Floor (Content): Share your origin story (how you got into real estate) and answer the most common questions you get from buyers and sellers.

Avoid These LinkedIn "Landmines"

We have all experienced bad behavior on LinkedIn. Beth warns against these massive "landmines" that turn people off:

  • The Immediate Pitch: Do not connect with someone you don't know and immediately pitch them your services. It is the most hated behavior on the platform.
  • Spammy Headlines: Avoid headlines that read, "I help [industry] 10x their business in 2 days."

  • Violating Terms of Service: Do not use unauthorized third-party connection bots or have a virtual assistant log into your personal account to send messages. This can get your account restricted.

Beth's Golden Rule: If you wouldn't do it or say it to a room full of people in person, do not do it on LinkedIn!

The "Sneaky" Lead Generation Hack

Beth shared an incredibly simple, highly effective strategy to reconnect with your sphere of influence using the "Who viewed your profile" feature.

When you see that a first-degree connection (like a past client or referral partner) has looked at your profile, treat it as a signal. Send them a simple, pressure-free message: "Notice you visited my profile, how are you?".

This simple question opens the door for a conversation, reminds them that you are in the real estate business, and can naturally lead to your next client!
